Iguana Maggie

April 18, 2025, 10:15 a.m. -- TracyF~Iguana Maggie~Maggie was hesitant to train. She finally agreed and crated. Once in the barrier (white plastic) she was disinterested in training. She wouldn’t target and would rarely take reinforcements. We blocked view from ferrets and she was still disinterested in training. She began pushing on barrier for escape. We made multiple attempts to crate her with zero success. She then decided to climb the barrier. I attempted to target and body block with no success in a matter of seconds she was pulling all body weight up and over the barrier. I felt I had no choice but to grab her. I lifted her with two hands behind her front legs, allowed time for her nails to untangle from the barrier and then placed her straight in the crate. She was visibly unhappy with me and hesitant to leave the crate to return to habitat. We provided a jackpot and she finally returned to habitat but bypassed the food and returned to her heat lamp.
JG and I wonder if her being fed out all of her breakfast led to being non food motivated. We discussed stopping training except for targeting in habitat until we see improved consistency. We have a training meeting on the 30th to explore next steps.
QW and AN were both notified of the incident.

March 26, 2025, 3:45 p.m. -- JessicaG~Iguana Maggie~I took Maggie to ELL for a GSC class. She crated and presented well, then refused to go back into her crate to head home. I ended up calling for back up - Carolyn & Audrey, and she had to be helped into her crate. She went back to her enclosure just fine, but was out on the floor for a while since she didn't want to crate.
